About Us

The ICEBC was established in 2023 following the ISBNPA conference in Sweden, where it became clear that many researchers from around the globe were interested in working together to solve some of the challenges of understanding child eating behaviours and those factors that influence them, such as parent feeding practices.

We aim to advance the science of child eating and inform practice and policy that supports healthy sustainable eating during childhood and promote child and family wellbeing. We aim to connect researchers and professionals across the globe with the aim to share knowledge and skills, promote science and facilitate the growth and development of child eating behavior scientists.

We Work Together On:

  1. Development of eating behaviours across infancy and childhood
  2. Measurement of infant/child eating behaviours
  3. Conceptualisation of infant/child eating behaviours
  4. International or cross-cultural differences / comparisons
  5. Interventions to change infant/child eating behaviours
  6. Development of infant/child eating behaviours in adolescence
  7. Novel methods or approaches for understanding child eating behaviours
  8. Theory / model / framework development
  9. Analytical (statistical) approaches to understanding child eating behaviours
  10. Communication and dissemination of research findings
  11. Research into practice

The ICEBC has three main objectives:
